Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income. Better Basics serves as the local program partner for Imagination Library of Jefferson and Walker Counties in Alabama.

Our goal is to get books into young children’s hands and equip their caregivers to help them enjoy and engage in reading events. In 2023,12,480 Jefferson and Walker County preschool children were enrolled and received approximately 124,800 books.
