Academic Tutoring
The Academic Tutoring program delivers one-on-one tutoring to early-elementary students by teachers and volunteers.
Tutors target students’ greatest skill deficits. Academic Tutoring expects to improve reading fluency by 40%. This year Better Basics added Academic Tutoring for Tots to specifically target pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children in childcare facilities. Academic Tutoring for Tots has the goal of improving pre-reading skills by 30% and pre-math skills by 15%.
