Better Basics Reads
Across five dates in May, hundreds of volunteers will visit every Pre-K through 5th-grade classroom in Birmingham, Fairfield, and Bessemer City Schools, as well as Restoration Academy and i3 Academy, for our annual read-aloud events, Better Basics Reads.

Be a part of a community-wide event to promote reading - thousands of students in classrooms across our community will participate simultaneously!
Great for clubs, teams, or colleagues to serve a single day together at the same school site - no experience needed.
You'll read a designated grade-level book (or portion for chapter books) and distribute a copy to each child.
Arrive by 12:15 pm to be in the classroom reading at 12:30 pm.
