21st Century Community Learning Centers

Serving K–6 students in Tarrant and Selma, the 21st Century Community Learning Centers provide a nurturing out-of-school environment where learning continues through academic support and enrichment activities. Students participate in hands-on experiences, tutoring, and academic intervention during the school year, with additional summer learning opportunities.

Better Basics Afterschool Program

The Better Basics Afterschool Program serves Pre-K–8 students in Fairfield, offering a safe and engaging space for learning, creativity, and exploration. Students participate in activities that blend academic intervention with enrichment opportunities—from homework help and literacy support to hands-on projects.

Academic Tutoring

Academic Tutoring provides one-on-one support for early elementary students who need additional support in reading. Trained volunteers meet with students individually once a week for 20 weeks during the school day. This individualized approach helps build student confidence and strengthens early literacy foundations.

Wise Words

Wise Words is a whole-class literacy enrichment program designed to grow student vocabulary and comprehension. Volunteers visit classrooms once a week for 20 weeks, leading interactive, book-based lessons.

30-A-Day

30-A-Day promotes independent reading for reluctant and developing readers through a unique book-club style format. This afterschool program helps students build reading stamina, foster a love of books, and strengthen literacy habits that support long-term academic growth.
