Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a global book-gifting program that mails free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age five. As Alabama’s largest Local Program Partner, Better Basics funds and administers the Imagination Library in Jefferson and Walker Counties—providing free books each month to more than 15,000 children during their most critical years of development.

Research shows that children who participate in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library are 30% more prepared for kindergarten and later outperform their peers in reading, science, and math.
